Disney Family Album - Documentary

A little over two years back when I was starting to study Animation, I spent hours reading 'The Illusion of Life', doing lots of pencil tests and watching 2d Disney classics. One day while watching some youtube video, I came across this fantastic documentary about the nine old men on YouTube. Its a part of "Disney family album" a TV series that seems to be aired in the 80's. Watch the nine old men themselves talk about their work !

A digital painting I did on a bus ride to Mumbai. Inspired by the view near Vashi creek. Took about 30 mins. Medium: finger on iPod touch.

Now some Gesture drawings

Last weekend I was at a hospital and was waiting for sometime in the atrium of the building. I had a lot of time to kill. The building had a lot of different people - each one very much different than other. It was great to observe them. I wished I had a sketchpad and a pencil/pen. Luckily I had the iPod with the newly discovered (for me) Sketchbook App ! I went crazy drawing people around.
All of them are quick sketches, taking roughly 1 minute each.

Will be doing more of these and more often I hope :)

Drawing the iPod way

I recently bought an iPod Touch and one of the first things I was looking forward to was the "Sketchbook Mobile App". I had read about it on some blogs and seen amazing artwork created on it.

How Awesome it is to have a big bunch of tools to draw and paint in your pocket ! The Batman is my first attempt at doing a full painting on it. I am surprised at how well it turned out to be. Woody is a quick drawing I did today. I am totally hooked to it !
